That should be "Take a look at this Red Baron video"....not sure what happened, it somehow got changed when it was moved....this board can be tricky sometimes.

What I take from this video, while I think the skies are a bit overcrowded with planes, is the fantastic CGI in it. There is now no excuse for not making another good WWI movie if someone wanted to (well, for the planes anyway); no need for building flying replicas or disguising modern biplanes. We may not care for their music, but I give this group credit for their interest in preserving some aspect of WWI aviation history. I hope to see more from them.

This is a film funded by rich Germans................its U.S. sales despite being in English, were a fraction of the cost and did poorly in Germany.
I think any of us would enjoy the film so much more if they had made efforts for realism besides the CG. Most of the action makes one feel sad that they went with first person shooter game style with the insane density of planes in the big dog fights. Realism realism realism...with those graphics....it could have been epic..and did not have to be about Richtoffen.
But heck, I thought 1917, while being cinematically immersive, if realistic would have had Pershing send over a small flight of go fast early SPADs to drop the messages to save the thousands of troops.....
Those RB guys won't make another, but an awesome movie could be made, as you say, with incredibly realistic looking (with lots of castor oil and dirt!) planes and a script that would win big awards and respect from aeroplane fans, while tossing in some romance, humor and historic authenticity. Despite it being a horrorshow in reality. But they won't.
